Jimmy Spencer Satistics 2001 - Finished 16th in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series point standings captured the pole postion for the Brickyard 400 held at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the UAW-GM 500 at Lowes Motor Speedway won three NASCAR Busch Series races and took two pole positions. 2000 - Had two top-5 and four top-10 finishes in the Winston Cup Series in route to a 22nd place finish in the overall Winston Cup standings. 1999 - Ranked 20th overall in the Winston Cup Series with two top-5 and four top-10 finishs....in only nine events, Spencer was able to grab five top-five and six top-10 finishes in the Busch Series. 1998 - Posted five top-5 and eight top-10 finishes on his way to his second career best 14th overall in the Winston Cup Series scored a victory at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Busch Series. 1997 - Finished 20th overall in the Winston Cup Series points standings with four top-10 finishes best finish was a fifth place showing at the inaugural California 500....held the outside pole position at Phoenix International Raceway posted seven top-5 finishes in just 12 starts in the Busch Series, including two wins and two runner-up finishes. 1996 - Captured the non-points Winston Select Open .posted nine top-10 finishes enroute to 15th place overall in the Winston Cup standings (only 156 points out of 10th place) Spencer launched his own Busch Series team, Spencer Motor Ventures, based in Mooresville, N.C the team posted six top-10 finishes while running a limited number of races. 1995 - Had four top-10 finishes and finished the season 26th overall in the Winston Cup standings. 1994 - Scored his first Winston Cup victory in the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway. grabbed his second victory three weeks later at Talladega Superspeedway .grabbed his first Winston Cup pole position finished the season with three top-5 and four top-10 finishes and 29th in the Winston Cup standings. 1993 - Finished a career best 12th in the Winston Cup standings with five top-5 and 10 top-10 finishes. 1992 - While competing in only 12 Winston Cup races, Spencer was posted three top-5 and three top-10 finishes .captured two victories in the Busch Series. 1991 - Achieved his first top-five Winston Cup finish on his way to a 25th place Winston Cup finish scored one top-5 and six top-10 finishes. 1990 - Posted two top-five finishes enroute to a 24th place in the Winston Cup standings. 1989 - Captured his first Busch Series win at Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina ended the season with two wins. 1988 - Raced his first complete Busch Series season and finished seventh overall in the standings. 1984 to 1987 - Competed in the Winston Modified series captured back-to-back titles from (1986 and 1987). 1979 - 1983 - Raced the asphalt Modified at the legendary Shangri-La Speedway in Owego, N.Y .achieved the Rookie of the Year honors at the track captured his first modified championship won back-to-back titles (1982 and 1983) captured the prestigious Race of Champions at Pocono International Raceway received the nickname "Mr. Excitement" from the media for his fearless nature and aggressive driving style. 1976-1978 - Began racing in the Late Model division at Port Royal Speedway in Pennsylvania recored his first professional victory received Rookie of the Year honors from Port Royal Speedway |
