Allied Steel to Sponsor Jimmy Spencer in NASCAR Nextel Cup Jimmy Spencer, one of only twelve drivers to win in the NASCAR Nextel Cup, Busch Series, and the Craftsman Truck Series will compete in eight more Nextel Cup events for Arnold Motorsports in 2005. The eight races will be sponsored by Allied Steel Structures. Allied will be the primary sponsor on Spencer’s No. 50 Dodge at four selected races, and will also serve as an associate sponsor at four other Cup events this year. “It feels good to partner with Allied Steel and have the funding to be competitive in the Cup Series again,” said Jimmy Spencer, who will launch his eight-race schedule driving the Arnold Motorsports Dodge Charger in the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on August 7. “We’re excited about our new partnership with Jimmy Spencer and Arnold Motorsports, and equally excited about our involvement in NASCAR,” said Mike Lassner, President, Allied Steel. “We look forward to Jimmy having great success this season and the opportunity for Allied Steel to leverage NASCAR and Arnold Motorsports to grow our business in 2005 and beyond.” Spencer and Allied Steel will also compete in the Nextel Cup events at: Bristol, August 27; Richmond, September 10; Loudon, September 18; Charlotte, October 15; Atlanta, October 30; Phoenix, November 13, and Homestead, November 20. Spencer, who also drives the No. 2 ASE Certified Dodge Ram full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, is a contender this season to win his first championship in one of NASCAR’s premier series. |
