Dan Glauz Named Crew Chief for Spencer,
No. 2 Team ASE Dodge Jim Smith, Ultra Motorsports team owner announced today that Dan Glauz has been named as crew chief for the No. 2 Team ASE Dodge truck running in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Glauz replaces Buddy “Red Dog” Barnes, who stepped down on June 13th. “Dan has been in the sport more than 25 years and is a talented crew chief with experience at several levels within NASCAR,” said Smith. “This, plus his history with our driver Jimmy Spencer makes him a good fit for the Ultra Motorsports team.” “I’m extremely excited to be working with Jimmy Spencer again,” said Glauz, who was crew chief on Spencer’s Busch team for three years. “I have a lot of respect for the Ultra Motorsports team and am glad to be working with Jim Smith and Gene Nead. These are a great group of guys who are winning with the No. 1 truck, and I want to bring the No. 2 truck back to the winners circle as well.” Glauz has already begun his duties at the Ultra Motorsports race shop in Mooresville, NC, and is busy preparing the No. 2 Team ASE Dodge for battle in the Toyota Tundra Milwaukee 200 at the Milwaukee Mile. Both Glauz and Spencer have their work cut out for them—last year’s winner was teammate Ted Musgrave. |
